Mid-July, I set out to spend a week with a dear friend Abby who lives in Nashville. Abby was spending the summer back home in San Francisco. We had a big adventure planned for the week, but sadly it was cut short due to an unexpected medical situation. All is well with everyone, and I still had such a solid few days out in San Francisco with old and new friends. Also when life just ends up being life, you don't have to let it ruin your plans and adventure. Make the best out of every travel situation. This trip taught me that.
As soon as Abby got me from the Airport, we headed towards Billy Goat Hill. There's this hill with this INCREDILE swing. I have dreamt of swinging on it for far too long now, so of course that's the first thing my eyes were set on.
The view of the city is absolutely incredible. Even if you aren't a really big swinging kind of soul, just go to see the view.
After that Abby took me to her favorite sandwich shop called Ike's. There subs really are out of this world and I was also introduced to a piece of my heart that was missing: BUTTERSCOTCH ROOTBEER. So good. I have dreams about that stuff.
If you end up going to grab a sub, walk a few blocks down and enjoy your meal at Dolores Park.
After that we walked over towards Mission street to go explore this really rad graffiti alley called 'Clarion Alley.'
From there we enjoyed a nice California drive with the windows down and headed to catch the sunset at Sutro Baths. I don't really have words to describe how beautiful and peaceful it is there. You guys just have to go experience it for yourselves.
It was such a good day. Sutro baths at sun down is the best time. Please go if you are in SF.
The next day was when all the medical things happened so we just rested that day. On the third day, before Abby dropped me off with a different friend, we stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge (of course). So so so wonderful. It's always my favorite finally getting to see things and places you hear and learn so much about growing up. Got some killer knots from the wind and I LOVED it.
I said my goodbyes to Abby and headed to stay with a sweet flight attendant friend of mine that I knew from Instagram. Tessa was so wonderful to let me stay, especially with it being so last minute, and she even had a fun adventure planned out too!
Tessa and her friend Brian took me to Mount Davidson Park where #thatSFtree is. It was such a beautiful hike and view.
We ended our time with a bonfire on the beach with new friends. San Francisco was absolutely INCREDIBLE. I feel like every time I see more parts of California, it continues to gets better and better. All my adventures were basically done over 2 days, so all of this is SO doable! And I recommend all of it to everyone!
P.s. If you love my boots in these pictures as much as I do, you have got to check out Nisolo. They are so wonderful.
A lot of smiles and dance moves for San Francisco. Can not wait to get back and do even more exploring!
